Moving is never a fun thing to do. Moving with a pet is an absolute disaster. Unless of course, you can get a person to take your pet while you move. In my case, that wasn’t a choice. I first had to have a moving truck rental company. I had to move long distance and I could not do this without one. It took me a long time to find one that met my needs. I looked on the Internet for cheap moving trucks and the results were too many. I ended up locating one after seeing a billboard that read, “truck rentals for moving”. I called the number and they had the best price and just the size of truck that I needed.

When the relocation started, I had to choose a place for my kitten so she would not run away. I placed her upstairs and locked her and her food and liter in my room. That allowed me to take all the boxes and furniture from the downstairs into the truck. Now this was a move that I started on Friday and I was not planning on leaving until early Sunday morning. So my cat had to live in my bedroom for almost two days. Having her food and liter in there was not something I very much liked. However, it was a thing that had to be done. If she would have stayed downstairs, she would have surely got out and then I would have had to waste time looking for her.

After the downstairs was moved, I had to then move my kitten. I took her to the basement along with her food and liter. She stayed down there while I moved the upstairs to my home. The same process continued. On Sunday morning the loading was done and I was ready to leave. The fun part was about to begin.

Four hours in a truck with my kitten was not a fun experience. She cried for almost two hours. She was starting to get car sick and I could not handle it. I called my vet and she recommended giving the cat the injection she had given me. She told me it was in the best interests of my kitten if she was asleep. So I injected my kitten and she went to sleep. I finally arrived and my kitten was still asleep while I started to move my stuff into my new place. It was not an easy move, but it was something that needed to be completed and I am happy it is over with.

I’ve been contemplating the purchase of a nanny cam in order to keep an eye on my cat. She often goes to play in the next room while I work in my home office. When she goes quiet, I can’t be sure if she has curled up in a sleepy ball or if she’s chewing on my network cables. Actually, I do wonder why she doesn’t prefer to gnaw on something more natural, such as the soft leather tongue of a shoe or the fuzzy terry-cloth belt of my bathrobe. What is it about Cat-5 cable that so appeals to my cat? It must resemble something in nature that cats like to chew on, but what? A delicious snake? A beanstalk?

I want to get a wireless nanny cam with a live feed to my computer desktop. I could have a window open in a corner of the screen while I’m working in the center. I can just see myself typing away in one window on some HTML, then I click over to the other window and there’s my cat looking cute on camera. Now that’s what I call multitasking!
