Looking after a wee little pet, such as a kitten or cat for a period of time can take time and patience. Depending on the age of the animal, minimal care may be sufficient or it may require a more hands on approach. Cats, in perticular, are very self-sufficient and do not need constant supervision. Like all pets, they do want love, attention and affection. Kittens require the most out of these three areas. They may get scared being left alone or may not be used to their new surroundings. Older kittens and adult cats thrive on love, but also like time to explore.
For kittens and cats, the taking care part is as easy as cleaning a litter box and providing fresh water and food. Do not forget toys. While cats are adventurous and can make toys out of pretty much anything, make sure you have enough cat friendly toys to keep them entertained. A ray of sunshine to a cat is the perfect start to any day, so make sure to leave those curtains and blinds up. Cats are a fun pet and taking care of them full time or part time is a rewarding experience in itself.
