Outdoor cat care during Warm Summer Months: Remember to provide your cat access to fresh water during those warm, exhausting summer days! For outdoor cats, it is advisable to put several bowls of water at different places in your yard. This enables your cat to find fresh, clean water at all times! Food however, can be placed in one dish in an easily accessible spot. As the days get warmer, you may notice your cat shedding fur. Don’t worry!
Use a brush and groom your cat regularly to avoid hairballs. When you first begin to brush your cat you will want to take it slow, only brush him or her for a few minutes as he gets used to brushing. When you brush your cat’s fur, stoke the brush along with the growth of hair and not in the opposite way. You kitty may get annoyed and become upset with your back combing ! Owning an outdoor cat is a lot of hard work, but definitely worth the effort. People have always considered cats very intelligent. In ancient Egypt, they even worshiped them as deities!
House cats value and love their freedom the most that they do not tolerate any activities forced upon them to curtail it. For this reason you face no mean a task in training them. Sometimes, however, cat behavior training is possible. Training a cat to use a litter box reinforces its natural instincts. This is the most common type of cat training. Some people also teach cats to do a variety of tricks, like playing dead or ringing a doorbell. The simplest tricks that we can train cats to do are those that replicate natural behavior, such as batting around a toy mouse. Dogs are much easier to coach as they can be aggravated by a diversity of plunder as cats are characteristically only aggravated by self-interest.
Cats are very stubborn, and will sometimes resist training attempts, especially when one trains them by punishment. Generally, it’s easier to train dogs and quite less frustrating; a great variety of tricks can be taught to them in a much lesser time. I would recommend buying a dog instead of a cat any day. Even if I do not have in depth knowledge of cat health, I do understand why good cat health should be maintained. Only a veterinarian can determine if your cat is healthy.Take your cats for regular checkups to ensure they enjoy good health.
Its easy to remember to do this since my vet mails me a reminder card every time something is required. Shots and regular check-ups should not be skipped if you are to ensure a healthy cat in your household. Sometimes between scheduled vet visits you can tell something is wrong. If your cat is lethargic, or her coat seems dull, or she is off her food, these can be signs that your cat is not in good health. In these circumstances it is a good idea to take your pet in to your vet for an examination. After all, thats what you would do for yourself if you were not feeling well.
